Let's build something amazing together!
My passion for motorbikes has grown rapidly since getting my first bike in 2015. I've been fortunate to own a few different bikes since then (mostly without incident), and currently I have a 2015 KTM 690 SMC, and a 2010 Aprilia RSV4. Whether at a track day, on a dirt road hundreds of kilometres from anything, or just on a Sunday cruise, I never tire of my freedom on two wheels. I also enjoy getting my hands dirty with basic maintenance jobs, upgrades, and occasionally building a custom part or two. I am constantly looking for ways to expand my home workshopβs capabilities, with the goal of one day being equipped to take on a kit-car project (perhaps something like an AC Cobra).
I've been lucky to grow up in the shadow of Table Mountain, surrounded by countless stunning hiking trails. While many are still on my bucket list, a few walks have become annual traditions with family and friends. When I have a bit more time on my hands, I love to explore the Cederberg. The vast, rugged, and wild landscape is the perfect escape from daily life, and I find it incredibly rewarding to live a rustic and self-sufficient life for a few days at a time. One of my goals is to taylor my camping gear to fit on a motorbike, so that I can take my camping adventures further, not limited by how far I can hike.
I was introduced to the exciting world of wine as a member of UCTβs Wine & Culture Society from 2016 to 2018. In 2017 I earned my Cape Wine Ambassador certificate, in a course conducted by SA wine-legend Clive Torr. As my knowledge grew, so did my collection... In 2020 I decided to build a smart cellar, indulging my love of design, fabrication, embedded computing, and of course wine!
I've been playing in the Western Provence Squash League since 2017, first as a member of the UCT Squash Society, and now as a member of VOB Squash Club. While at UCT, I captained my team in 2019, being responsible for organizing catering and transport for our weekly matches. The league fixtures are a lot of fun, and really help in gaining exposure to different styles of play. I also really enjoy the team camaraderie, social matches, and braais after our matches.
Between 2012 and 2019, I worked as a DJ for private functions and parties. My music selection and playing style allowed me to entertain crowds at 13th birthday parties, 21sts, 40ths, 50ths, wedding celebrations, as well as promotional events and corporate functions. Working closely with each client to bring life into their party is something I really enjoyed. Although I no longer consider myself a DJ, music is still ever-present in everything I do - even while I'm riding motorcycles!
